purpose

The purpose of this blog is, like most, for me to expound on my thoughts and ideas. There is no set theme, but there will be reoccurring topics and serials.

This section will grow and change as I add and update information about myself. I do not intend to hide anything, nor misrepresent myself. Keeping that in mind, even though I am placing myself for all to see, there may be details that I will choose to keep private. 

I grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, affectionately known as "The Hammer". I moved to Ottawa, Ontario to attend the University of Ottawa and have remained in the region ever since. I have travelled in Europe, Asia, and the United States.

I have had a multitude of jobs since I began working at about eight years old. Some jobs I have held: coat check attendant, theatre usher and doorman, sound and light technician, store clerk, chicken coop cleaner / farm hand, soldier (reserve army), newspaper circulation manager, computer support technician, carpenter's helper, independent contractor, gas station attendant. I have worked on and off with youth for several decades in volunteer and paid positions. I am currently a Scouter (aka Scout Leader) with a Scout Troop with Scouts Canada.

I enjoy World Cup Soccer, Shotokan Karate (I have a Ni Dan standing), hiking, camping, and canoeing.
